It’s 11:00 pm. The parking lot was dark. The two punks that came behind you and your wife almost caught you off guard. Training and preparation saved your lives. Six shots later. Two dead men lay before you. Now what?
This is why CCW Defenders of Michigan, LLC was created. Our organization is a community made up of sportsmen, CPL carriers, security personnel, firearms trainers, firearms dealers and ordinary citizens who are concerned about their own self-protection. Not only does our organization encourage training and continual education, but we provide an important service to the community. We are the Are you prepared?only organization which has twenty-four hour/seven days per week access to counsel for our membership if you are involved in a shooting or have been arrested as a result of an incident involving a handgun. The encounter does not end with the shooting. CCW Defender lawyers provide you with the critical advice and counsel you need when dealing with the criminal justice system.
As a CPL (concealed pistol license) holder or someone who is considering obtaining a CPL, you need to be prepared for any kind of circumstance. Not only do you need increased training with the firearm you choose to carry, but you must know who you are going to call if the moment of truth arises. An important member of your crisis team will be your attorney and it cannot be just any attorney. You need someone who is skilled in dealing with the police, is familiar with the criminal justice system and has a background in firearms law and the employment of deadly force. In other words, your CCW Defender. An attorney who show up when you need him, not when the retainer has been paid or when he gets back from lunch.
We require all of our members to have a CPL in order to qualify. Why? Because the license symbolizes your commitment to the legal and safe self-protection of you and your family. It means that you have put yourself out to the public as a person who isresponsible enough and cares enough to invest the time, effort and training to become a licensee. It means that you take self-responsibility for your training and well-being. We applaud you for you for your efforts and want to encourage you to receive further training.
